Over five months, I managed social media and marketing for four Austin nightlife venues across Rainey Street and 6th Street, rebuilding their digital presence from the ground up. Consistent content production, optimized profiles, and targeted outreach increased engagement, visibility, and event promotion across all venues.

The Problem

Managing marketing for four nightlife venues revealed several key challenges:

  • Minimal Social Media Activity: Accounts were posting infrequently, sometimes only once per month, limiting audience engagement and platform reach.
  • Weak Online Presence: Google Business listings, Apple Maps profiles, and social media accounts lacked updated branding, media, and optimized descriptions.
  • No Content Strategy: There was no consistent system for capturing nightlife content, promoting events, or maintaining regular posting.
  • Disconnected Marketing Efforts: Event promotions, influencer partnerships, and social content were handled inconsistently across venues.
  • Highly Competitive Market: Austin nightlife is extremely saturated, requiring strong digital presence and engaging content to remain visible.

These issues made it difficult for the venues to maintain consistent visibility and attract new audiences online.

The Process

1. Content Creation & Publishing

  • Produced and captured nightlife content on-site across four venues, building a large media library of photos and short-form video.
  • Implemented a consistent posting schedule of 5+ posts per week per venue across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
  • Created graphics, event promotions, and story content to maintain daily activity and highlight upcoming events.
  • Tailored content to match the unique atmosphere and audience of each venue.

2. Social Media Optimization

  • Rebuilt all social profiles, including updated bios, hashtags, profile visuals, and branded Linktrees.
  • Standardized captions, posting structure, and video formats to improve engagement and reach.
  • Introduced short-form video strategies using trending audio, humor, and crowd-focused content.
